Apple today unveiled the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max, its new flagship smartphones. The new iPhones feature a number of upgrades over their predecessors, including a new A17 Bionic chip, a more advanced camera system, and a longer-lasting battery.
What’s New?
- A17 Bionic chip: The A17 Bionic chip is the fastest chip ever in a smartphone, and it powers all of the new iPhone’s advanced features. It’s on a 3NM process, and promises a 10% bump in CPU and twice the speed for its neural engine.
- New camera system: The new camera system features a 48MP Wide camera, a 12MP Ultra Wide camera, and a 12MP Telephoto camera. The new cameras also support Cinematic mode, which allows you to record videos with a shallow depth of field.
- Longer-lasting battery: The iPhone 15 has a longer-lasting battery than its predecessors, so you can use it all day long without having to worry about running out of power.
USB-C?
The new iPhones will have a USB-C port that offers up to 10 Gbps of data transfer speeds. This will allow Pro users to transfer files faster, especially large files like ProRes video files. The USB-C port will also support DisplayPort output, which means that users can mirror their iPhone’s display to a monitor or TV.
