The ROG Ally AMD Ryzen Z1 Variant Announced ; Confirmed To Come To Malaysia

ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) today announced that the ROG Ally gaming handheld is now available with the AMD Ryzen™ Z1 processor, adding a more affordable variant in the ROG Ally lineup. This latest model delivers excellent gaming performance on the go, and apart from the processor, it shares the same chassis, screen, storage, and cooling system found in the more powerful Z1 Extreme-equipped ROG Ally.

Perfect for gaming on the go

The ROG Ally features an all-new processor from AMD. Built on the Zen 4 architecture, the Ryzen Z1 is a six-core, 12-thread processor paired with RDNA 3 graphic compute units, enabling full support for AMD’s upscaling technologies like FSR and RSR for exceptional gaming performance.

Apart from the new processor, the Z1-powered Ally uses all the same components as the Z1 Extreme model. A dual-fan Zero Gravity thermal system with ultrathin heatsink fins and high-friction heat pipes ensures the Ally stays cool in any orientation. The Ally is also equipped with 16 GB LPDDR5 6400 MHz memory, 512 GB of PCIe® Gen 4 storage, and a UHS-II microSD card slot to expand storage capacity. WiFi 6E support ensures that the Ally stays on a rock-solid connection whether in a multiplayer melee or streaming from Xbox Cloud Gaming, even in congested networks.

A 120 Hz FHD (1080p) panel boasting FreeSync™ Premium support gives gamers exceptional motion clarity in fast-paced games, with no tearing or stuttering even in the face of framerate drops. Like its more powerful sibling, the Z1-equipped Ally also has a display capable of 500 nits brightness, enabling gamers to play even in well-lit areas and outside. Touchscreen functionality allows for seamless navigation of the Windows desktop.

For gamers who demand even more performance, or for those who intend to use the Ally both on the move and as a dedicated PC when at home, the Ally can connect to the XG Mobile ecosystem of external GPUs. In addition to providing the Ally with additional USB-C® ports and display outputs, the XG Mobile offers the power of up to an NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 4090 Laptop GPU, transforming the Ally from a portable gaming machine into a true AAA-capable powerhouse.

Vast gaming libraries

The ROG Ally is specially designed for the Microsoft Windows OS and is able to play all games across any platform. ROG has partnered with Microsoft, game publishers, and studios to ensure gamers using the Ally have the best experience possible. Full support for Steam, the EA app, Xbox Game Pass, the Epic Games Store, GOG, and other game libraries means that no matter where gamers download their games, the Ally has them covered.

The ROG Ally is bundled with a 3-month Xbox Game Pass Ultimate code, giving gamers access to hundreds of titles right out of the box. Access AAA games like Starfield on day one for free, or discover other amazing titles in Xbox Game Pass Ultimate’s vast library.
