What an exciting day at Galaxy Unpacked 2022 today, where Samsung had announced 3 new additions to their flagship S lineup, namely the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, S22 Plus and S22.
Galaxy S22 Ultra: Going Beyond Ultra!
This is definitely the most powerful of the triplets. The S22 Ultra seems to be the answer to everyone’s question about the fate of the Note series. It becomes the Note by simply having its own Spen silo for safe keeping, and it’s the only variant of the 3 to feature that.
The S22 Ultra comes with a slew of new hardware, including Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 gen 1 and a boxier design that pays heavy tribute to the Note series. The Spen gets some improvement too, in terms of latency, promising an instantaneous 2.6ms of response time on top of a new predictive algorithm for the best possible natural writing experience you could get your hands on now!

Galaxy S22 Plus: Plus Sized Fun
Taking over the S21 Plus would obviously be the S22+. It serves as the middle point between wanting a small screen and a bigger one. You’ll miss the Spen here, but only if you are someone who’s actually going to use it. It pretty much has the same specs as the Ultra sans the Spen and some changes in the camera department. Colors are different too, on top of a design language that’s seeming too close to the S21 FE, with some mildly added boxyness into the mix. It’s also FHD+ as well, compared to the S22 Ultra’s QHD+ resolution. This would definitely benefit those who prefer a longer battery life over a higher resolution experience.
There’s 4 great colors to choose from too, if that’s your thing.

What We Think
We had our first experience with it earlier today and it was insane! We took a look back into last years S21 series and we found it to be quite a capable series worthy of the flagship banner. With these new slated improvements on top of a different, rule-breaking design, it only gets better knowing that we finally got the answer we’ve been waiting for when it came to the Note series.
Local Availability
Starting on February 10, 2022, the Galaxy S22 series will be widely available through Samsung.com/my, carriers and retailers online.
