If you’ve been waiting, it’s finally here, ASUS has brought out the Zenfone 8 series for this year and there are two models, the Zenfone 8 and Zenfone 8 flip, both boasting some serious flagship specs to carry the name around.
Zenfone 8 ; The compact performer
The Zenfone 8 is touted as the compact performer, perfect for those who like to one-hand use their phone thanks to the 5.9″ 120Hz display and redesigned shape for one handed use. This year, Asus has partnered up with Pixelworks to ensure high color accuracy in their phones that use Samsung AMOLED displays which are capable of the most vivid colors while being able to be very bright. Under the hood, it is powered by the current flagship Snapdragon 888 5G, so gaming performance would be no issue and the chipset helps power the dual camera system which holds one of Sony’s best mobile camera sensors which can shoot 8K video and a ultra-wide camera. All that is packed into a compact body with a 4000 mAh battery for massive power all day.
Zenfone 8 Flip ; The photography phone
The Zenfone 8 on the other hand is designed to carry mobile photography into another level, with the unique triple-camera array that flips to the be the front and rear cameras. The triple camera array shares the same Sony 64MP ultra high resolution sensor and ultra-wide/macro sensor but is now joined with a telephoto camera that zoomz up to 12x digitally. The sensors are designed with quad-bayer technology so regardless of night or day, the sensors can capture light efficiently. A larger 6.7″ 90Hz screen is used on the Zenfone 8 so that the photographer can see his artwork better and a larger 5000 mAh battery is also used in the phone for better battery life.

The Zenfone 8 is priced at RM2,699 for the 128GB variant and RM 3,299 for the 256GB variant. However, do note that the 256GB variant is only available from the Asus official Shopee online store.
The Zenfone 8 Flip, is priced at RM2,999 for the 256GB variant, with no other variant available.
