Samsung hasn’t been keeping mum about their Galaxy S21 series, and have recently been steadily releasing a slew of teasers hinting its design and focus, which seem to be on AR and a new camera layout.
Is that a LiDAR sensor?
In the next teaser we see a bunch of dots forming into shapes resembling a man on a surfboard cruising on some waves. We either think it’s mimicking how a LiDAR sensor captures information and distance, or a camera sensor capable of capturing extreme sports movements with minimal blur. Either way, they are both welcome features to be on the next Galaxy flagship. We also see a little checkbox question on the Galaxy Unpacked website where Samsung asks what do consumers want to see in the next Galaxy? The 6 options are definitely upgrades, and we suspect that the Galaxy S21 would feature all 6 instead of just 1 of them.
When is the launch?
The Galaxy S21 announcement will be this coming 14th January 2021 at 11pm (GMT+8). You can get a reminder by heading over to samsung.com/my/unpacked to register your interest.
