Amidst a bunch of new products that Xiaomi announced recently, the new Pad 5 and Pad 5 Pro tablets are one of them, filling up a Android tablet segment that admittedly needs more competition.
It’s shaping up to be pretty good if you wanna use this for entertainment, as both have 11-inch 1440p+ 120Hz screens with Dolby Vision and HDR10 support at 500 nits. The base model has a quad-speaker setup on each corner (it’s going to sound amazeballs) and the Pro variant at 8 speakers with Dolby Atmos support.
The base model gets a Snapdragon 860 while the pro variants gets the Snapdragon 870 and another variant with 5G support. The last difference here is 33w fast charging vs 67w on the pro variants.
You asked for an Android iPad competitor? You’re going to get it, but with apple style accessories too so they don’t come in the box lmaoooo. There’s a hardware pin connected keyboard so no need for wireless pairing as well as the ever important stylus. The stylus has a 240hz sampling rate and detects up to 4096 levels of pressure for 8 hours tops.
