Tech-enabled Ninja Van Malaysia has launched a comprehensive e-guide to help Malaysian Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) expand their businesses across Southeast Asia. Titled “From Malaysia to Southeast Asia: A Practical Guide for E-commerce SMEs Expanding Beyond Borders,” the free resource provides actionable strategies for navigating the region’s dynamic e-commerce landscape.
The e-guide was marked by a compelling panel discussion featuring Jeremy Hong, Regional Vice President of Cross Border at Ninja Van Group; Yienyee Soh, Chief Relationship Officer at EasyStore; Marcus Lim, Head of Growth at Milieu Insight; and Sam Zhang, Client Solutions Manager at CPXi Asia. Together, they discussed actionable insights and shared how Malaysian businesses can successfully navigate and grow in Southeast Asia’s dynamic e-commerce landscape.
E-Guide
Developed in collaboration with research firm Milieu Insight, data from 1200 online shoppers across Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, The Philippines, and Indonesia has been compiled to create the e-guide. A key finding reveals that Malaysian brands enjoy high trust among these consumers, with categories like Fashion and Accessories, Food & Beverage, and Health & Beauty leading in cross-border popularity.
“This demonstrates the competitive advantage that businesses based in Malaysia have within the Southeast Asian e-commerce market. With Malaysia’s strong brand presence and strategic location, local businesses are primed to leverage the country’s advanced logistics network for seamless cross-border expansion.”
Denise Wong, Head of Cross Border at Ninja Van Malaysia
The e-guide offers a step-by-step approach, starting with practical e-commerce logistics considerations and guiding SMEs in selecting the most suitable markets for entry. It emphasizes three crucial factors for cross-border success: optimizing logistics networks, navigating regulatory landscapes, and catering to each market’s unique demands.
The e-guide launch underscores Ninja Van Malaysia’s commitment to empowering local businesses. With its extensive network and comprehensive solutions, Ninja Van continues to drive growth in the Southeast Asian e-commerce sector.
“Drawing on a decade of operational expertise, we understand the challenges businesses face when expanding into new markets. This e-guide, crafted in collaboration with CXPi and antics@play, equips SMEs with the knowledge to scale their businesses regionally.”
