Meizu 21 Lists In Malaysia ; Launches 5 March 2024 with RM 3099 Price Tag

Meizu Malaysia had just set up shop, and their debuting in the local market with one hero model, the Meizu 21, which places itself in the sights of the likes of the already available iQOO 12 and Galaxy S24. Fun fact, Meizu is one of China’s earliest and now oldest smartphone brand!

Headlining Specs

The Meizu 21 packs a 6.55″ 120Hz FHD+ AMOLED display, powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen3 with 2 variants, 12GB+256GB and 12GB+512GB.

As for camera, the Meizu 21 headlines with a 200MP main wide sensor, accompanyied by a 13MP ultrawide and finally a 5MP depth sensor. An added gimmick would be the depth sensor, where the an RGB LED ring is built into it, and can be customized to indicate notifications based on color, such as messages, incoming notifications and even volume level.

As for battery, the Meizu 21 has a 4800mAh pack that’s charged by the company’s own 80W Super mCharge.

Meizu 21, like the rest of its counterparts, will be using a skinned version of Android, Flyme OS.

Who Owns Meizu?

Based on a 2022 report, the Chinese Consumer Electronics company based in Zhuhai, Guangdong was acquired by car manufacturer Geely, who owns majority stake in the corporation.

Pricing and Availability

In Malaysia, it’s confirmed that the Meizu 21 will be priced at RM 2999 for the base 12GB+256GB model, while the higher capacity 12GB+512GB variant will be a cool RM 3399, which sets an interesting tone as it directly competes with the iQOO 12 which offers 16GB+512GB for the same price

While it’s just simply competition, Meizu is better known in China to be a value centric brand with some prowess in the camera department, would that be enough though? Malaysia’s a real mobile arena where giants spend a lot of time trying to get our attention with their offers. Either way, the Meizu 21 will be launching this March 5th.
