In June, Huawei had filed to trademark HongMeng as a name for its Android-based operating system for their smart devices. The trademark, being filed in numerous countries including Malaysia, was also alternatively named as Ark OS. Now, the company is filing to trademark another name, Harmony.

  • According to LetsGoDigital, the trademark application for Harmony had already been applied with the EUIPO (European Union Intellectual Property Office on 12th July
  • With 3 possible names being listed, what name will be used will be determined by which market they are in.
  • HongMeng/Harmony/ArK OS is stated to be ready by end of 2019, with the global edition to be ready some time mid of 2020.
