Galaxy One UI 8 Rollout Schedule – Malaysia 2025

Samsung has officially begun the rollout of One UI 8, bringing advanced multimodal AI capabilities and a user experience (UX) optimized for various device form factors to Galaxy devices. The new update, which is based on Android 16, aims to make daily life smarter and more convenient with personalized and proactive suggestions.

Key Features of One UI 8

The One UI 8 update introduces several new features centered on personalization, AI, and security. It offers proactive suggestions that adapt to a user’s unique daily routines. The new user interface also includes upgrades to existing features like Circle to Search with Google, which now provides real-time translations of on-screen text as you scroll. Additionally, Gemini Live allows for hands-free voice searches and seamless communication with AI that understands what you’re seeing or watching without switching apps.

For foldable devices, One UI 8 includes a UX optimized for multiple form factors. The Now Bar on the Galaxy Z Flip’s FlexWindow now shows real-time app activity and media player progress, with expanded support for third-party apps. The new AI Results View displays AI feature results in a separate Split View or Floating View, keeping the original content unobstructed. Other productivity tools like Drawing Assist and Writing Assist enable users to easily move ideas and visuals within their workflow.

On the security front, Samsung has introduced two new architectures to protect private data. Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection (KEEP) creates encrypted, app-specific storage environments to ensure each app can only access its own sensitive information. Furthermore, Knox Matrix automatically signs devices out of a Samsung Account if flagged for serious risks and sends notifications across connected Galaxy devices to guide users on how to protect their data.

Other notable features in the update include:

  • Audio Eraser: Detects and removes unwanted background noise with a single tap in video and audio apps.
  • Portrait Studio: An AI-powered tool that can capture pet expressions and create artistic, studio-like portraits.
  • Call Captions: Instantly converts voices into text during calls, and Interpreter now allows for text-based translations.
  • Customizable Clock: A new clock design that stretches and adapts to match the user’s wallpaper.
