Sonos Malaysia had recently announced the new Sonos Roam, a portable smart speaker that you can bring around everywhere to blast your tunes. Available in Shadow Black or Lunar White, the Roam is definitely an outdoor-ready speaker, featuring a strong IP67 level of dust and water resistance, complete with rubberized caps for drop protection. Battery life is claimed at up to 10 hours on a single charge, and 10 days on standby. You can charge the Sonos Roam via their proprietary magnetic charge, USB Type-C and any Qi-compatible wireless charger. Neat!
The Sonos Roam boasts a variety of features, with dual wireless connectivity being the main. The feature allows for smooth swapping between Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to maintain connectivity, with Wi-Fi being given first priority.
Sound Swap adds more fun by allowing you to beam your music to a nearby Sonos speaker to spread the jam to another area. If you prefer streaming, you should download the Sonos app on your smartphone, as you’re able to control more than 100 streaming services in that app alone, which adds more to ease of use.
If you’re big on voice assistance, the Roam is compatible with 3 big ones, namely Amazon’s Alex, Apple’s AirPlay 2 (Siri) and the Google Assistant.
