Samsung Launches AI-Powered Browser for Windows, Bridging the Gap Between PC and Mobile

Samsung Electronics has officially expanded its ecosystem by launching Samsung Browser for Windows. This move brings the popular mobile browsing experience to the desktop, introducing seamless cross-device continuity and “agentic” AI capabilities developed in partnership with Perplexity.

A Unified Browsing Experience

The new Windows application is designed to eliminate the friction between mobile and desktop web surfing. Beyond standard synchronization of bookmarks and history, the browser allows users to pick up exactly where they left off. For example, a user can start exploring a webpage on their Galaxy smartphone and instantly transition to the same page on their PC.

Security and convenience are also integrated through Samsung Pass, which enables users to securely store personal data and use autofill for profiles and login credentials across all connected devices.

Introducing Agentic AI

The centerpiece of the launch is a new AI-powered assistant built directly into the browser. Unlike traditional search tools, this “agentic” AI understands natural language and the specific context of the user’s activity.

Key AI features include:

Intelligent Content Understanding: The browser can analyze a page to provide optimized solutions, such as generating a structured four-day travel itinerary based on a tourism website.

Multi-tab Context Awareness: Users can summarize or compare information across multiple open tabs simultaneously to gain insights without manual sifting.

Smart Video Navigation: The AI can understand the context of video content, allowing users to find and jump to specific moments instantly.

Natural Language History Search: Users can search their browsing history using conversational queries—like “the smartwatch I looked at last week”—rather than relying on specific keywords or dates.

Availability and Requirements

Samsung Browser for Windows is compatible with devices running Windows 11 and Windows 10 (version 1809 and above). While the browser is rolling out globally, the specific agentic AI features are currently available to users in South Korea and the United States, with further market expansions planned.
