It seems that it’s not just all about the S22 series this Unpacked 2022 for Samsung. Alongside the smartphone release are a new set of tablets of variable sizes that have the same naming structure of the Galaxy S22 series. Based on that, you will be seeing the Galaxy Tab S8, Tab S8+ and Tab S8 Ultra as part of this 2022 lineup.
All models will come with an improved S Pen and USB Type-C cable out of the box.
Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra: The Biggest Galaxy Tab Yet!
Probably one of their most ambitious releases, the Tab S8 Ultra is a huge piece, raking up a monstrous 14.6″ WQXGA+ Super AMOLED panel that goes up to 120Hz. It packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset and comes in variable storage sizes. The Ultra gets the bulk of the good stuff, apart from the display. It houses a 11,200 mAh battery that’s capable of 45W charging.
Unlike the entry Tab S8, the Tab S8 Ultra unlocks via an on-display fingerprint scanner just like the Tab S8+.

Galaxy Tab S8+: The S7+ Successor?
At the midpoint, we feel that the Tab S8+ is the true successor to the Tab S7+, considering that the Tab S8 Ultra would be Samsung’s first “Ultra” class tablet. It stands at 12.4″ with the same resolution and refresh rate capabilities as the Ultra. You’ll get a slightly smaller battery here (10,090 mAh vs 11,200 mAh), with the same on-display fingerprint scanner privileges. With what’s been given on paper, the Tab S8+ could be hot seller as it’s truly a midpoint with very little differences other than the display size itself.

Galaxy Tab S8 : The Stepping Stone
The entry flagship is the smallest piece, offering an 11″ WQXGA IPS screen with up to 120Hz of refresh rate. Hardware wise you’ll get the same chipset and configurations with the difference being in the fingerprint scanning. It’s not going to be on-display, but instead would be a side key scanner instead.
It comes with the smallest capacity to match the size, coming in at 8000 mAh.

What We Think
These are absolute bangers and it’s nice to see Samsung working to maintain their tablet line to keep things competitive. It has a lot to offer and in this case, price will really determine this new Tab S8 series to be win or an L. Either way, it wins in accessibility, as you’ll always receive an S Pen in box and doesn’t require an extra purchase.
Pre-order will be available at Samsung Experience Stores, Samsung Authorized Partners and Samsung Malaysia Online Store.
