HONOR Magic Vs to Get Worldwide Launch Rollout

After much anticipation and teasing, HONOR finally revealed its next-gen foldable flagship – the HONOR Magic Vs. Like its predecessor, the 6.45″ front-display foldable uses a gearless-hinge fold-out design that opens into the larger 7.9in internal display.

Immediately after it made its official debut, HONOR also confirmed that the Magic Vs will hit international markets in early 2023. Malaysia, of course, is included in the global launch wave.

“The HONOR Magic Vs will be our very first foldable flagship to debut in overseas markets and we are confident that it will deliver huge advancement, transforming how people all around the world use their smartphone,”
George Zhao, CEO of HONOR Device Co, Ltd.

The Interesting Bits

Staking its claim as a foldable smartphone that pushes industry benchmarks in design and user experience, the HONOR Magic Vs comes in a remarkably light and slim form factor – only 261g and 12.9mm in its closed mode.

Notably, the specs are top notch. Thrumming inside the ultra-slim foldable are the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 mobile processor with 8GB RAM (up to 12GB) and 256GB storage (up to 512GB). Both drive the 6.45″ OLED and 7.9″ Foldable OLED exterior and interior screens – both offering DCI-P3 wide colour gamut and high refresh rates; IMAX Enhanced Symmetrical Stereo Dual Speakers with DTS: X Ultra Algorithm; and a triple lens rear-facing camera setup featuring 54MP IMX800 main shooter with 50MP ultra-wide and macro cameras and 8MP 3X Optical Zoom snapper.

The camera bits, which also includes the 16MP front camera, are paired with the HONOR Image Engine, a proprietary artificial intelligence imaging system.

Powering all that is a 5,000mAh battery that promises all-day usage, even with heavy gaming and social media scrolling. It comes with the 66W Wired HONOR SuperCharge function that promises low to full battery in 46-minutes.

The HONOR Magic Vs isn’t the only next-gen flagship to appear as the more premium Ultimate Edition dropped, featuring the more spec-upped 16GB/512GB memory and storage config, native support for the Magic Pen stylus and variant designs for both the Phoenix Feather Gold (textured backplate) and Glossy Black (gold outline for primary camera island) colourways.
