ASUS Malaysia has officially unveiled the all-new ASUS Gaming series, introducing a line of powerful yet portable 16-inch gaming laptops designed to cater to gamers, creators, and students. Emphasizing a “Lightweight, Game On” philosophy, the series aims to make high-performance computing more accessible.
The new series features two distinct models: the ASUS Gaming V16 (V3607) and the ASUS Gaming K16 (K3605). Both models are built to provide robust performance, immersive displays, and everyday versatility within a sleek and lightweight design. ASUS identified a gap in the market for lighter gaming laptops with powerful specifications and developed this series to address that need without sacrificing performance. The laptops are presented as an ideal solution for individuals requiring both gaming capabilities and productivity features in a portable form factor.
The ASUS Gaming series boasts a slim profile, with models weighing as little as 1.80 kg and measuring as thin as 1.89 cm, positioning them among the lightest and slimmest 16-inch gaming laptops available. Despite the compact build, the series maintains full I/O ports for comprehensive connectivity. This makes the laptops suitable for users who need high performance and the flexibility to easily transport their device between different locations.
Under the hood, the ASUS Gaming lineup is equipped to handle demanding tasks, featuring up to an Intel® Core™ 5 Processor 510H and up to an NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 4050 Laptop GPU. An enhanced thermal architecture, incorporating up to two cooling fans and heat pipes, ensures efficient heat dissipation for consistent performance during gaming, streaming, or creative work. The series is engineered for sustained peak-level output with a combined TDP of up to 70W.
Visuals are delivered on a 16-inch FHD+ IPS display with a 16:10 aspect ratio and a fast 144Hz refresh rate. This display is designed to provide stunning visuals and smooth gameplay, with reduced latency, stuttering, and screen tearing. The narrow 89% screen-to-body ratio enhances immersion, while the 16:10 aspect ratio offers increased vertical screen space, benefiting editing, multitasking, and content viewing.
Durability is also a key feature, with each laptop in the ASUS Gaming Series tested to military-grade standards (MIL-STD 810H) to ensure reliability for daily use and travel. The ASUS Gaming V16 offers a more powerful configuration, featuring an Intel® Core™ 5 processor 210H, NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 4050 Laptop GPU, faster DDR5 memory, and a larger 63Wh battery. It also includes a 1080p FHD camera, making it suitable for heavy multitasking and content creation. The ASUS Gaming K16, on the other hand, is slightly more compact and lighter at 1.80kg, equipped with an Intel® Core™ i5-13420H processor and NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 3050 Laptop GPU, offering strong everyday performance with a focus on portability and value. Both models share the same 16-inch FHD+ 144Hz display with a 16:10 aspect ratio, ensuring a consistent visual experience.
Availability and Pricing
The ASUS Gaming V16 (V3607) is priced at RM3,999 and will be available starting April 25, 2025, at all authorized ASUS retailers in Malaysia. The ASUS Gaming K16 (K3605) is priced at RM3,499 and will also be available from April 25, 2025, at authorized ASUS retailers in Malaysia.
