It’s no surprise to hear about this, as Samsung’s Fan Editions have always hit the markets hard with flagship class specs and features of a low price. The Galaxy S21 FE 5G is here, sandwiched between the S21 series.
The Galaxy S21 FE is a 6.4″ smartphone with a FHD+ AMOLED 2X display that can go up to 120Hz in refresh rate (240Hz in touch sampling). It comes in 4 colors that kind of pays homage to the A52s 5G and the Galaxy Buds2 : Olive, Lavender, White and Graphite. This time around, to differentiate the FE from the mainstream series, the S21 FE may use the same plastic as the S21 but the camera bump follows the back case cover for uniformity. This definitely make it a pretty little piece with match colors all around. There’s also IP68 water and dust resistance rating which further adds value proposition.
On-board is the same Samsung Exynos 2100 chipset with 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. There’s no microSD card slot nor is the an audio jack. Perfectly fine since most manufacturers have already adopted that.
At the back you can see that there’s a triple rear camera setup; 12-megapixel f/1.8 Dual Pixel AF with OIS main camera, 12-megapixel f/2.2 FOV 123″ ultrawide camera and a 30-megapixel f/2.4 with 30x Space Zoom telephoto camera. For selfies, there’s a 32-megapixel hole punch system.
Battery-wise there’s a 4500 mAh battery pack that’s charged up with 25W Adaptive fast charging on top of 15W wireless fast charging. Do take note that the Galaxy S21 FE will not come with a charger, and you will have either purchase or use your exisiting charger.
Out of the box the Galaxy S21 FE will be running the latest OneUI 4.0 (Android 12), with Samsung commiting 3 major updates for futureproofing, implying that you’ll be receiving updates all the way to Android 15.
